TEAS exam qualifying will begin in September 2026. Applications for the 2027/28 Practical Nursing Program will be accepted beginning October 1, 2026.
The ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (ATI TEAS®) measures basic essential skills in the academic content domains of reading, mathematics, science and English and language usage.
Candidates who wish to be considered for admission to the fall 2027 Practical Nursing program must complete the prerequisite ATI TEAS® exam or request send an official test transcript dated on or after July 1, 2026.

What Score Do I Need?
The nursing curriculum is challenging. The minimum qualifying score to be considered for admission are outlined below. Higher scores enhance your admission potential.
- Minimum Composite (overall) score > 48%
- Minimum Individual Subject Scores: English > 50%, Science > 35%, Reading > 55%, and Math > 45%
Candidates can test two times per admission qualification period, observing a minimum 2 week review period between attempts.
Proctored Testing Options:
Registration closes 48 hours prior to scheduled exam.
In-person exams are held at Penn State Berks Campus, Reading, PA in the Gaige Business and Technology Building. Candidates who are applying to the Practical Nursing Certificate Program are encouraged to test in-person.
- In-person TEAS exams will be offered beginning in September 2026.
Remote proctored exams are offered in partnership between ATI and Proctorio.
What does a candidate need to complete remote testing?
- A reliable internet connection (review additional system requirements provided by ATI Testing)
- A desktop or laptop computer with a remote camera and speaker capabilities
- Students MUST use Google Chrome web browser to ensure optimal testing compatibility
- A quiet room where you are free from distraction and interruption for approximately 3 hours
