The Penn State Berks Department of Theatre will present "The Complete History of America (abridged)" by Adam Long, Reed Martin and Austin Tichenor, at 8 p.m. Oct. 5 to 8, in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room. Admission is free, and donations to the Theatre Department will be accepted. Seating will be limited.
"The Complete History of America (abridged)" is a rollercoaster ride through the glorious quagmire that is American history, reminding us that it’s not the length of your history that matters – it’s what you’ve done with it! Written by the authors who created "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)," Long, Martin and Tichenor tackle such controversial questions as: Who really discovered America? Why did Abe Lincoln free the slaves? How many Democrats does it take to screw in a light bulb?
Cory Palmer, instructor in theater and designer/technical director at Penn State Berks, will direct the production. Berks theater students Akintokunbo Adonis Oyediran, Tommy Heiler and Taylor Clark Housel will perform.
