READING, Pa. — Penn State Berks will host its annual Veterans Day Program at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room. This event is free and open to the campus community, and lunch will be provided. Attendees must respond to Joe Web via e-mail at [email protected] no later than Monday, Nov. 7.
The program will begin with a welcome by Mark Bennett, president of the Student Veterans of America (SVA) organization on campus, followed by Penn State Berks student Jocelyn Vargas who will sing the National Anthem. The keynote speaker will be Nicholas Marriott, United States Air Force veteran and Penn State Berks alumnus. Marriott has experience working in military security and anti-terrorism. Lunch will be served following the program.
“Veterans Day is an opportunity for the entire Penn State Berks community to pay tribute to our outstanding veteran students and to all veterans who have served our country with such honor,” states Joe Webb, director of Student Support Services. “Our veteran students make Penn State Berks a better place and they symbolize the tremendous contribution that veterans have made to our nation.”
