READING, Pa. — The Penn State Berks Student Veteran Coalition is teaming with the Student Veterans of America to hold its fourth annual ROY G. BIV Memorial Run. The 5K run and 1-mile walk will benefit the Penn State Berks Chapter of the Student Veterans of America. The event will be held on Saturday, April 8, with a rain date of April 30. Check-in/last minute registration begins at 11 a.m. in front of the Perkins Student Center and the run begins at 1 p.m. The event is open to students, faculty, staff, family members, and the community. The cost to participate is $25, and the event is free to students with valid Penn State ID.
Registration will be held in the Perkins Student Center from 1 to 2:30 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday until Friday, April 7. Participants can also register at SVAPSUBerks.org. Participants must check in prior to the event, at which time they will receive a T-shirt, bandana, water bottle, sunglasses and wristband.
“ROY G. BIV” is an acronym for the colored starch used in the run. The term “memorial run” is used to recognize fallen soldiers.
The Penn State Berks Student Veteran Coalition’s mission is to help student veterans achieve their educational goals at Penn State Berks while providing an environment in which they have the opportunity to support and socialize with one another.
