Berks partners with Schuylkill River Trail for Family Nature Festival

READING, Pa. — Penn State Berks will join local community organizations to host a free Family Nature Festival from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 28. The festival will be held on a half-mile section of the Schuylkill River Trail, beginning at the River Road trailhead in Northwest Reading across from Baer Park. This event is free and open to the public.

Attendees will have an opportunity to learn about nature and have fun through informational, hands-on stations dealing with river creatures, birds, water safety, a restored lock and river transportation in the 1800s, invasive plants, biking, water bugs, and recycling. The event will also include crafts, children’s games, face painting, and refreshments while supplies last. This is a “drizzle or shine” event and will be canceled in the event of heavy rain.
