Penn State Berks hosts evening of the arts

READING, Pa. — Penn State Berks will host two events that showcase the artistic talents of its student body: a Student Art Exhibit and the Spring Festival of New Plays. Both events will be held on Thursday, April 27. The Student Art Exhibit runs from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Freyberger Gallery and the Spring Festival of New Plays begins at 7 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. Both events are free and open to the public.

The Student Art Exhibit will feature original works by students, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, poetry readings, and a vocal performance. Two students will serve as jurors and awards will be presented at 7 p.m. 

The Theatre Program will present the Spring Festival of New Plays, showcasing short plays written by the students in the Introduction to Theatre and Introduction to Acting courses. The plays will be produced by Maria Mogford, instructor in theatre.
