This November, as part of the Penn State Berks 60th anniversary celebration, the college will take a look back at its global footprint over the past six decades through “Pause for Paws: 60 Years of Cultural Exchange.” Faculty and students will have the opportunity to share information about their cultures through two panel discussions and an international gala celebration. These events are free and open to all faculty, staff, students, and the community.

The first event will be an International Student Panel Discussion, which will begin at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. It will include international and domestic students who will share stories about their cultures and their experiences living and studying in a foreign country.

The International Gala will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14, in the Multipurpose Room in the Perkins Student Center. This will be a showcase and celebration of different national cultures represented at Penn State Berks. There will be displays representing different cultures, a fashion show of traditional attires, musical and dance performances, and short presentations on different countries. Attendees will also be able to sample various cultural cuisine.

The week will end with the International Faculty Panel Discussion, which will begin at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. This panel will feature some of the international and domestic faculty members of Penn State Berks, who will discuss their research and teaching, as well as their personal experience living and working in different cultures.

“Pause for Paws: 60 Years of Cultural Exchange” will be held in conjunction with Penn State Berks Global Studies Week and International Education Week, Nov. 12–16.
