As part of the college’s 60th anniversary, Penn State Berks will hold a gala celebration on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Reading. The event will begin with a reception at 5:45 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. Cocktail attire is requested and an RSVP is required. Individual tickets cost $100 and can be purchased by contacting the Office of Development at 610-396-6056 by Nov. 28. Table and other sponsorships are also available.

The gala will raise funding for a new 60th Anniversary Scholarship at Penn State Berks for local students interested in earning a baccalaureate degree at Penn State.

As an added benefit, as part of the current University-wide campaign, A Greater Penn State for 21st Century Excellence, Penn State will provide a 1:1 match for all gifts toward this effort, in effect doubling all contributions toward the 60th Anniversary Scholarship at Penn State Berks.

Attendees of the gala will hear remarks from Penn State University President Eric J. Barron, Provost Nick Jones, and Madlyn Hanes, vice president for commonwealth campuses and executive chancellor, as well as Penn State Berks Chancellor R. Keith Hillkirk. In addition, a special musical composition written for the anniversary will be performed.
