As part of Penn State’s Global Entrepreneurship Week, Penn State Berks will hold a variety of events on and off campus for aspiring entrepreneurs from Nov. 11 to 15.
The Penn State Berks LaunchBox, located within the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts in downtown Reading, Pennsylvania, will hold a Meetup titled “Global Entrepreneurship: Latin American Perspectives” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12.
The Berks LaunchBox is accepting members from the local community. Members will enjoy access to 3D printers, laptops, a laser cutter, and other high-tech equipment; training and education on equipment and software.
The Berks LaunchBox will hold a special Meetup titled “Learn Trending, Trademarks and Traction” and a free bilingual four-week course on the basics of 3D printing and computer design.
Penn State Berks alumnus Joe Sinclair just launched his third business — Verde Mantis, LLC, the first local company focused on bringing 3D printing or additive manufacturing to the masses with its latest product, the 3D Mantis Printer.
The Penn State Berks LaunchBox is hosting a series of events, including Marketing Mondays and Tinker Tuesdays, 2-7 p.m., throughout the month of July; a Laser Cutter Safety and Orientation course; and special interest meetups in the fall.
The Berks LaunchBox will hold a series of open house events dubbed “Tinker Tuesdays” throughout the months of June and July, with the first scheduled for June 4.
Berks Startup Week features entrepreneurial workshops; networking events; a student pitch competition on WPSU’s “The Investment”; and presentations from startup founders and corporate innovators, including many Penn State alumni.
It wasn’t until Masen Suhadolnik became a senior in the electro-mechanical engineering technology degree program at Penn State Berks that he discovered a way to combine his love of weight lifting, his knowledge of engineering, and his desire to help others.
