This year, the Penn State Berks Alternative Spring Break took a group of six students and two staff advisers to Petersfield, Jamaica, where they worked with early education and elementary school children.
A new monthly program at Penn State Berks titled “Berks Community Connections” is opening the door to various cultures around the world. For the April program, Pauline Milwood will give a presentation about Jamaica with assistance from Sharon Pitterson-Ogaldez.
This year, a group of Penn State Berks students will visit Jamaica over spring break, but not for fun in the sun. Rather, they will go off the beaten path with the Penn State Berks Alternative Spring Break program.
