Berks prepares for FIRST Lego League Challenge

Excitement is building as the Penn State Berks community prepares for the FIRST Lego League Challenge, set to run from 8 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Jan. 21 in the Penn State Berks Perkins Student Center. In the competition, fourth- through eighth-graders will be immersed in real-world science and technology challenges.

College holds creative game programming workshop

The Flemming Creativity Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (CEED) Center at Penn State Berks will hold its third Creative Game Programing Workshop for Reading School District middle school students who are enrolled in the Penn State Educational Partnership Program (PEPP) from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 20, in the Gaige Technology and Business Innovation Building.

Well, that’s exactly what’s going to take place during the FIRST Lego League Challenge, and Penn State Berks is jumping right in to be a part of this exciting competition.

Penn State Berks offers a variety of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) related Middle School Youth Camps in a fun and relaxed environment. The camps are for students entering fifth through eighth grades in fall 2016. Camps run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Discovery High School Camps focus on STEM fields

With a focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) related fields, students attending Penn State Berks Discovery High School Youth Camps will learn about various career fields, the world around them and themselves. The camps are for students entering ninth through 12th grades in fall 2016. Camps run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 11–15.
