Penn State Berks is celebrating its history while preparing students for the future through National Engineers Week events and activities, to be held Feb. 17 to 21.
In honor of Black History Month, Penn State Berks will hold the following events in February 2020. All events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 20, Penn State Berks students will volunteer in the local community and complete community service activities on campus in an effort to honor the life and legacy of the civil rights leader.
Berks Benefiting THON, a Penn State Berks student organization, will host a benefit dinner and a night of fun—all for a good cause. The third annual "Inspire the Night" benefit dinner will be held from from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17.
Penn State Berks will celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day by hosting a banquet on Monday, Jan. 20. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will begin at 6 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room.
Jeff Griffin, author of "I’Mpossible: Desire, Dream, Do," will share his inspiring story of overcoming adversity with the Penn State Berks community at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium.
The innovators of tomorrow will practice imaginative thinking and teamwork at the FIRST LEGO League Challenge, set to run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25. This is the fourth consecutive year that the event will be held at Penn State Berks.
Berks student marshal Jaime Seaman will graduate with a bachelor of science in information sciences and technology during the college’s commencement ceremony at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at the Santander Arena.
Penn State Berks students enrolled in the college’s Flow Visualization course will present their work, titled “Gallery of Fluid Motion,” as part of a poster session from from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11.
A new class of 177 Penn State Berks students will receive their baccalaureate and associate degrees at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, in the Santander Arena, located at 700 Penn St. in Reading, when Berks hosts its fall 2019 commencement ceremony.
