Libraries announces 'Through the Woods' Short Stories fall contest winners

The winning selections from Penn State University Libraries Short Stories’ “Through the Woods” fall 2021 contest have been announced, representing five Penn State campuses. Each of the four Editorial Board winners and the People’s Choice winner will receive a $100 Visa gift card. All winning entries, including nine honorable mentions, will be added to the Libraries’ Short Edition short-story dispensers

Shara McCallum to visit Penn State Berks, Oct. 25

Shara McCallum, 2021-22 Penn State Laureate and Edwin Erle Sparks Professor of English, will visit Penn State Berks to read from her works at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 25. The event, which will take place in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium, is free and open to the public.

Libraries announces circus-themed Short Stories contest winners

The winning writers of Penn State University Libraries Short Stories’ “A Night at the Circus” spring 2021 contest have been announced. Representing five Penn State campuses, the latest writing contest encouraged students, faculty and staff across the commonwealth to submit their best circus-themed creative writing in the form of short stories or poetry.

Fegley publishes book on old order German sects

Randall Fegley, associate professor of history and political science at Penn State Berks, recently published a book titled "Reflections on Old Order German Sects in Berks County: Past, Present and Future" through Masthof Press and Bookstore. In addition to Fegley, the book is edited by 2012 Penn State Berks alumnus Owen Reitenauer and Zachary Stoltzfus.
