Did you know that people who experience stigma toward their drug use are less likely to seek out help? And did you know that opioids are medications prescribed by doctors to treat persistent or severe pain? These are just two of the messages that are part of a Penn State Berks awareness and educational campaign on opioid addiction.
University students and educators alike are grappling with turbulent times, and Penn State’s course on the “Art and Science of Human Flourishing” is well-positioned to help undergraduates to develop strategies for caring for themselves and others. This summer, 15 Penn State Berks students traveled with their faculty adviser to Orange, Texas, to work with children affected by Hurricane Harvey as part of Camp Noah, a week-long day camp that responds to children touched by community disasters.
