Alumni Organizations

Penn State Berks connects with Penn State alumni through five different organizations: The Alumni Relations Office, the Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Management (HRIM) Affiliate Program Groups (APG), the Berks County Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association, and the Penn State Berks Alumni Society.

Alumni Relations at Penn State Berks

The Alumni Relations Office is the primary communications link between Penn State Berks and our alumni. It is our goal to encourage and foster lifelong alumni participation, involvement, and commitment.

For more information regarding alumni relations, contact Heather Wise, assistant director of alumni relations, at [email protected] or 610-396-6052.

Affiliate Program Group

Affiliate Program Groups (APGs) include alumni or friends of Penn State who have a common interest in a particular academic, professional, or extracurricular activity that is related to a specific college or campus program. There are two Affiliate Program Groups at Penn State Berks: the Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute (WPI) APG, and the Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Management (HRIM) APG.

For more information regarding the APGs, contact Heather Wise, assistant director of alumni relations, at [email protected] or 610-396-6052.

Penn State Berks Alumni Society

Societies connect alumni to an academic unit such as a particular college or campus. Every college and most Penn State locations have a society. Alumni societies' activities and programs vary, but often include mentoring programs between current students and alumni, networking events for alumni and students, and student recruitment activities.

Berks County Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association

The Berks County Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association is chartered through the main Penn State Alumni Association and serves any Penn State Alumni in the Berks County area. However, you do not need to be a member of the Alumni Association to be a member of the Berks County Chapter.  Membership is open to any alumni, family of alumni, faculty, staff, students, or friends of Penn State that live or work in Berks County. Many chapter events are open not only to members, but also to any Penn State Alumni or friends of the University.

The Penn State Alumni Association

The Penn State Alumni Association began with 12 members in 1870 and has since grown to over 750,000 strong. This powerful network is the largest dues-paying alumni association in the country. Its mission is to connect alumni to the University and to each other, provide valuable services to its members, and support the University's mission of teaching, research, and service. Visit the Penn State Alumni Association website to learn more.
