GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The Penn State Berks athletics program tied for second place out of 14 institutions in the 2014-15 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Presidents Cup standings.
In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Penn State Berks students organized several events and Berks Commission for Women is hosting a guest speaker on the topic on October 16, 2015.
Jack D. Gulati, author and serial entrepreneur, will be the keynote speaker at the Fall Entrepreneurship Speaker Series Presentation on Wednesday October 28, 2015, from 1 to 2:15 p.m. in room 5, Luerssen, Penn State Berks. Author of the book titled Serial Entrepreneur, Gulati, will present "Serial Entrepreneur with Life Lessons Learned." This event is free and open to the public.
Jes Baker, a positive, progressive, and magnificently irreverent force to be reckoned with in the realm of self-love advocacy and mental health, will visit Penn State Berks and present her life-changing message, "Change the World, Not Your Body" on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at 7:30 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium, Penn State Berks. This event is free and open to the public.
The Penn State Berks Freyberger Gallery will present the exhibition Industrial - Primitive, featuring assemblage sculpture by Robert Hakun, from November 11-December 17, 2015. There will be an opening reception on Thursday, November 12, at 6 p.m.; and a Gallery Talk at 7 p.m. This event is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served.
Prospective students are invited to an Application Workshop at Penn State Berks on Saturday, November 7, 2015, beginning at 10 a.m. and ending at 12 noon, in the Gaige Technology and Business Innovation Building, located just off Broadcasting Road in Wyomissing. Admissions counselors will assist students with the application process during the program and the college will waive the application fee for Berks. In addition, students will be able to take a campus tour with our Lion Ambassadors.
Ryan Sallans, an international speaker, author, educator, and trainer, will be discussing his transition from female to male in a presentation titled FTM: Scouting the Unknown on Friday, October 9, 2015, at 1 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. This lecture is free and open to the public.

For the first time, Penn State Berks and Penn State Health St. Joseph are partnering to provide Practical Nursing students with hands-on patient experience. Penn State Berks Practical Nursing students will be joining hospital staff to provide flu shots to hospital employees and their family members during the "Family & Friends" Flu Shot Clinic at the hospital's Bern Campus on October 13 and 15, 2015. The students will also participate in the Public Flu Shot campaign on October 17 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
