Sunday, October 17, 2021: Schuylkill River Trail Clean Up

2:00 – 6:00 p.m.

PSU Berks Student Government Association and the City of Reading have partnered to dedicate a portion of the trail. Then join us as we head to the Schuylkill River Trail for a cleanup! Sunday, October 24, 2021: Opportunity House Dinner

4:45 – 8:00 p.m.

Opportunity House is an organization that coordinates services for individuals currently or recently experiencing homelessness. We’ll be providing and serving them a home cooked meal. If you are taking transportation, please arrive no later than 4:45 p.m., if you are providing your own transportation to Opportunity House, please arrive no later than 5:00 p.m.

Tuesday, November 2, 2021: Helping Harvest Weekend Packing

8:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Helping Harvest collects and distributes nearly 7.3 million pounds of food to over 300 charitable food partners in Berks County. We will be helping to sort and pack donated items for individuals in the community served by Helping Harvest. You MUST be able to attend for the entire time. If you are taking campus transportation, please arrive no later than 8:30 a.m., if you are providing your own transportation to Helping Harvest, please arrive no later than 8:45 a.m.

Thursday, November 18, 2021: Helping Harvest Holiday Packing

3:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday, December 1, 2021: Opportunity House 5 Star Dinner

Opportunity House is an organization that coordinates services for individuals currently or recently experiencing homelessness. Each semester, in collaboration with the Hotel & Restaurant Society students, Campus Life takes the time to transform the Opportunity House dining room into a 5 Star Restaurant, ‘The Loving Lion.’
Sign up Deadline: Friday, November 19

1:45 – 5:00 p.m.
During the first shift, students will set up the dining room, prep food items for the dinner service, and help to reduce clean up. If you are taking campus transportation, please arrive no later than 1:45 p.m. If you are providing your own transportation to Opportunity House, please arrive no later than 2:00 p.m. Please identify if you are planning to stay for both shifts.

Max for transportation: 10

5:30 - 9:00 p.m.
During our second shift, students will continue preparing the various components of the meal, serve the meals, and assist with clean up. If you are taking campus transportation, please arrive no later than 5:30 p.m. If you are providing your own transportation to Opportunity House, please arrive no later than 5:30 p.m. Please identify if you are planning to stay for both shifts.
