Global Oscars comes to Berks on Sept. 11

This fall, as part of the global studies degree program's "Global Oscars Comes to Berks," Penn State Berks will present several films during the fall semester beginning with "A Fantastic Woman" on Sept. 11.

From the Horn of Africa to Penn State Berks

When Tesfay Rezene was just 14 years old, he lived with his family in a small village in the African nation of Eritrea. When government authorities announced that they would be removing children from school, Rezene fled the country and never returned.

Dr. Chidi Achebe to discuss global issues and U.S. healthcare, Feb. 21 at Berks

Dr. Chidi Achebe, physician executive and the son of the late Chinua Achebe, author of the novel "Things Fall Apart," will present two lectures at Penn State Berks on Feb. 21. The first is part of the Global Studies Forum, titled “Investment in Nigeria” at 12:15 p.m. The second is part of the college’s Arts and Lecture Series, titled “Inequalities in Health Care in the United States: Why We Should Care” at 7 p.m. Both lectures will be held in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room and are free and open to the public.
