Seven incoming Penn State Berks students were awarded a four-year renewable $6,250 scholarship to study engineering through the Penn State Berks Leveraging Innovation and Optimizing Nurturing (LION) STEM Scholars Program.
Two Penn State Berks professors are working to help students in STEM majors garner the core skills and knowledge offered in the humanities in an effort to gain a more complex understanding of how their disciplines and careers relate to humanity and the fast-paced global economy. A $350,000 grant will help them implement the Keystone Certificate at several campuses.

Penn State Berks hosted United Way’s "The Big Cheese" event on Friday, June 17. This year, more than 500 volunteers came together in the college's Beaver Athletic and Wellness Center to package 250,000 nutrient-fortified, mac-and-cheese meals for local families in need.
Penn State Berks is bringing fun back to campus with the return of in-person summer camps designed for middle- and high school-aged participants. The camps will be held on weekdays throughout the month of July.

Four Penn State campuses — Abington, Berks, Lehigh Valley and Mont Alto — awarded Penn State’s inaugural Open and Affordable Educational Resources (OAER) Champion Award during the spring 2022 semester. A collaboration between Penn State University Libraries and the University-wide OAER Working Group, the OAER Champion Award is a pilot initiative recognizing excellence, innovation and impact in OAER at Penn State campuses.
