Penn State Berks to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week

As part of Penn State’s Global Entrepreneurship Week, Penn State Berks will hold a variety of events for aspiring entrepreneurs from Nov. 8 to 12. The events are sponsored by the college’s Flemming Creativity, Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (CEED) Center and the Berks LaunchBox, an incubation hub located in the city of Reading.

COVID-19 vaccine requirement expands to two more campuses, Penn State Extension

After a careful review of President Joe Biden’s executive order mandating vaccines for federal contractors and guidance issued by the federal Safer Federal Workforce Task Force, Penn State has determined that the COVID-19 vaccine mandate already in place at seven campuses must be extended to two additional campuses — Berks and Schuylkill. The vaccine mandate also applies to all Penn State Extension employees across the commonwealth.

Berks LaunchBox startup develops new method to make green fuel

Successful entrepreneurs create products and services that solve problems and challenges. Penn State Berks student Eric Schraud is one of those entrepreneurs. With the help of the Berks LaunchBox, Schraud has launched a startup focused on making green fuel using renewable energy instead of fossil fuels.

University Police to participate in National Drug Take Back Day on Oct. 23

Penn State police officers at Penn State Altoona and Penn State Fayette are hosting National Drug Take-Back Day events on Oct. 23, which aim to provide a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. Secure prescription collection bins also are available year-round at Penn State Berks, Penn State Harrisburg and University Park.
