Penn State Berks student startup team Streamline Charging LLC has received national and University-wide recognition for its flexible and affordable electric vehicle (EV) charging solution that transforms the charging experience for apartment dwellers and service station customers.
Penn State Berks is showing support for the four student dancers who are representing the college at THON, the University's dance marathon which benefits families battling pediatric cancer. There will be a dancer send-off from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, in Multipurpose Room 2, located on the second floor of the Perkins Student Center, where faculty, staff and fellow students will gather to wish the dancers well.
Brenda Russell, professor of psychology at Penn State Berks, met Celia Torres when Torres was an applied psychology major at Penn State Berks. During that time, they developed a mutual respect for one another and began a long-standing research collaboration that continues today.
Collaborative efforts between six Penn State instructors from two campuses and two colleges worked in teams with Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) over the past two years as part of the 2022-24 TLT Faculty Fellows program. Their goal was to enrich the student engagement experience through technology. This included addressing themes such as affordability and inclusion, physi-digital space and radical creativity. Attributes such as these foster equitable opportunities, prepare students for dynamic workplaces and cultivate essential skills for the future.
Penn State has announced its schedule of events for International Love Data Week 2024, to be held Feb. 12–16. The week will be packed with insightful sessions and engaging activities that delve into the world of data analytics.
Are you ready for it? Penn State Berks will offer a new course titled “Taylor Swift, Gender, and Communication” starting in the fall 2024 semester. The class will hold 100 seats with 50 spots reserved for current Berks students and the other 50 spots available for incoming first-year students.
Nathan Bonslaver, Penn State Berks alumnus and cofounder of CarToCamp, worked with Invent Penn State's OriginLabs to develop a new prototype of his car sleeping platform product.
At the end of 2023, nine student teams consisting of Penn State Berks mechanical engineering and occupational therapy assistant majors presented adaptive equipment designs they created to meet the needs of individuals with physical challenges. This spring, three teams will collaborate with business majors to create a business plan for their designs.
The last week of February 2024 still offers a few events across campuses for Black History Month, including at Penn State Brandywine, Harrisburg, Dickinson Law, Lehigh Valley, Shenango, and York. In addition, several exhibits are still available to visitors at Penn State University Park, Brandywine and Harrisburg.
