Lesa Cline-Ransome, an award-winning author of children’s and young adult literature, will give a presentation at Penn State Berks from 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. The presentation is free and open to the public.
The Penn State Berks Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee will hold its annual International Thanksgiving dinner at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 13. This event is open to Penn State Berks students, faculty and staff. Attendees are asked to register for the dinner no later than Nov. 5.
The Penn State Berks Flemming Creativity, Entrepreneurship, and Economic Development (CEED) Center will host the “Innovate to Renovate” upcycling workshop from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, in Room 111 Gaige Technology and Business Innovation Building. The event is free and open to Penn State Berks faculty, staff and students.
At an event held on Oct. 31, leaders from the Student Philanthropy Network announced that the class of 2024 has voted to create the University Park Undergraduate Association Basic Needs Endowment as their class gift. The fund will provide sustained support for students facing hardships in pursuit of their degree.
The University Libraries, as part of the LibWell initiative, is currently piloting three sensory rooms, located within Penn State Berks’ Thun Library, Penn State Brandywine’s Vairo Library, and in Pattee Library on the University Park campus, to assist students with sensory impairments and neurodiversity.
Penn State Berks will host motivational speaker and activist Autumn Rose Miskweminanocsqua Williams for a lecture on self-love and empowerment at 7 p.m. on Nov. 6 in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium.
The Penn State Berks theater program will present “Brainstorm” by Ned Glasier, Emily Lim, and Company Three from Nov. 1 to 4, at 8 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $10 for the general public and $5 for the campus community with a Penn State ID.
Penn State Berks will host the “Algorithms and Social Justice” presentation from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10, in room 121, Gaige Technology and Business Innovation Building. The event is free and open to the public, but attendees must register in advance to reserve a seat.
As part of the "Global Oscars Comes to Berks" series, Penn State Berks will present the film “Close” at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7, in room 5 of the Luerssen Science Building. The presentation is free and open to the public.
