Penn State Berks peer mentors with the Aspiring Scholars Program had an opportunity to showcase their experiences in poster presentations at the Student Engagement Network's Summit and Expo on November 13, at University Park campus. Quijhanae Lee, a junior studying Security and Risk Analysis, and G. Michael Shott Jr., a sophomore majoring in Communication Arts and Sciences, designed and presented a poster outlining their leadership experiences in the program. Lee and Shott spoke about the Aspiring Scholars Program, and shared the program's purpose, the students who are served, mentor responsibilities, and the impact of peer mentors on the first-year student experience. The Student Engagement Network's Summit and Expo is an annual conference that serves to build support for faculty and staff to design new programs and resources for scalable and rigorous student engagement experiences.
