Four outstanding Penn State Berks alumni were recently celebrated by the Penn State Berks Office of Development and Alumni Relations during its annual awards ceremony on March 26, 2026. Alyssa Bushkie received the Alumni Achievement Award, Emily Pfender received the Outstanding Young Alumnae Award, and Rogelio Flores and Aimee Strunk received the Volunteer Service Award.
Penn State Berks will host its "Make Your Mark" event, the largest event for students who have been admitted to Penn State Berks, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 25. Prospective students and their families are invited to register to learn about the perks of Berks.
Filmmaker Pearl Gluck, 2025-26 Penn State Laureate and associate professor in the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications, will speak at Penn State Berks at 12:15 p.m., Monday, April 20, in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room.
The Penn State College of Education recognized five alumni for their achievements in education, leadership and service during its 2026 Alumni Society Awards Ceremony. The honorees represent diverse career paths and exemplify the college’s commitment to impact across the field.
Penn State Berks student Jaedon Mast has spent four years balancing a 3.78 GPA with nearly 90 career games, internships across campus, and his own photography business. That balancing act recently earned him the United East Senior Scholar Athlete Award for men’s basketball, a recognition that felt less like a finish line and more like proof that the work he put in mattered.
“Malaysian WWII Oral Histories: A Digital / Virtual Art Exhibition” will open on Friday, March 27, with a reception from noon to 2 p.m. in the Penn State Berks Freyberger Gallery. Viewers will be transported into a sensory world described by the storytellers through the multi-modal exhibition. The reception is free and open to the public and light refreshments will be served. The exhibition runs through May 1.
The academic accomplishments of 26 Penn State Berks students were celebrated on Feb. 24, when they were inducted into the college’s Lambda Beta Chapter of Alpha Alpha Alpha, a national honor society for first-generation college students. The students, along with honorary inductee James McCarty, director of enrollment management, were recognized in a ceremony attended by more than 60 guests.
Penn State Berks is launching a new major in interdisciplinary business with engineering studies, a bachelor of science degree program for students who are interested in learning about both business and technology. This degree program is differentiated by coursework emphasizing the core principles of engineering, business and product development — preparing graduates for technical leadership careers within technology-driven organizations. Students will be able to further customize their degree by choosing from the accounting / finance or technical sales options.
Penn State Global has announced the 2025-26 recipients of its annual awards that recognize the outstanding contributions of individuals and academic programs at the University who have contributed to advancing its global engagement goals. This includes a new award this year, the Outstanding Global Alum award.
