The Additional Aid Application is designed to support Penn State Berks students who may need financial assistance beyond what is included in their initial financial aid package. Each year, students may miss the opportunity to complete the Berks Campus Scholarship Application during the designated deadline window, or they may experience new financial challenges after submitting the FAFSA. This form offers a pathway for those students to be considered for any remaining campus-based aid, including scholarships, grants, work-study, or University loan resources.
Students may submit this form once they have received their initial aid package from the Office of Student Aid (which will include any eligible federal, state, and institutional funding) to be considered for additional aid such as scholarships, grants, work study, or University loans.
- Incoming Students: Aid requests may be submitted May 1 through the first day of classes of the following fall semester.
- Returning Students: requests may be submitted June 15 through the last day of classes of the following spring semester.

This process allows the Berks Financial Aid team to review individual circumstances more holistically. Students who have recently deposited, missed the scholarship application deadline, or experienced unexpected changes such as loss of income, medical situations, family hardship, or increased educational expenses are encouraged to submit the form. Although additional funding cannot be guaranteed, completing the application ensures each student is reviewed for every possible resource that may help meet their educational costs.
Submitting an Additional Aid Application does not replace completing the FAFSA. Instead, it supplements the standard aid process, providing students with a way to communicate evolving financial needs. Students are encouraged to apply as early as possible within the appropriate window to allow time for review, follow‑up, and determination of eligibility based on current campus funding levels.
The goal of this process is to ensure that students have equitable access to institutional support and remain on track toward their academic and financial goals at Penn State Berks.
