Course Description
In Spring 2020, all Spanish courses at Berks will offer an optional, international travel component. Over spring break, students will travel to Salamanca, Spain to participate in a program that immerses them in every aspect of Spanish life. They will experience the language, history, culture, art, and literature of Spain first-hand by staying with Spanish families, partaking of Spanish foods at Spanish mealtimes, attending classes in Salamanca, and visiting several museums and historical sites. All tours and classes will be conducted in Spanish.
All students participating in the program will be enrolled in SPAN 297 for 1 credit. This course will be available online for students not at the Berks campus.
Included: Roundtrip airfare, transport to/from airports, all travel in Spain, accommodations, three meals per day (including welcome and farewell dinners), on-site staff in Spain, mobile phone for each student with local number and free incoming calls, cultural events, museum entrance fees, 24/7 computer lab access in Salamanca
Not Included: $20/week comprehensive insurance, $125 refundable deposit for housing, personal expenses, passport fees

Saturday, March 07: Excursion to Segovia and Avila, travel to Salamanca
Sunday, March 08: Tour of Salamanca, program orientation
Monday, March 09: Friday, March 13: Spanish immersion classes
Saturday, March 14: Excursion to Peña de Francia and La Alberca
Sunday, March 15: Return to US
