WYOMISSING, Pa. – Many prospective students are anxious about choosing the best college for their academic and social needs. To help students make that important decision, Penn State Berks has launched “Welcome to College,” a tool that allows prospective students to connect with current Penn State Berks students.

Whether a prospective student has already applied and been accepted to Berks, or just wants to see if Berks may be their college choice, they will be able to have one-on-one conversations with current students and get answers to many of their questions.

Currently, 25 Penn State Berks students who serve as Lion Ambassadors have signed up to meet with future Penn Staters. Prospective students can sort for Lion Ambassadors by major, hometown, state and interests. This allows prospective students to find a current student with a major they are interested in studying, or a geographic area like their own, to ask specific questions related to their own unique situation. For example, Ashley D. is a criminal justice major from Boston, Massachusetts; and Tahj M. is a biochemistry and molecular biology major from Reading, Pennsylvania.

The “Welcome to College” site also includes links to a campus tour video and an overview of student life.
