Kylie Herman was selected as a member of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Second Team on Thursday afternoon, as voted by the conference coaches.
Herman is the first women's basketball player to earn All-NEAC Second Team honors since Shanelle Koch received the recognition at the end of the 2014-15 season.
The sophomore guard turned in a superb effort during her first season with the Nittany Lions. Herman led the team in points (409), scoring average (18.6 ppg), field goals made (167), free throws made (59), rebounds (190), rebounds per game (8.6), assists (83), and assists per game (3.8). She finished the season second on the squad in free throw percentage (72.0), steals (43), and blocks (13). Herman ranks fifth in the single-season record books for scoring average and field goals made, while assist total was seventh best and points and rebounds were eighth all-time.
Herman appeared in all 22 contests and made 21 starts. She reached double figures in scoring in every game but one and had 20 or more points in nine games. Herman notched a season-high 29 points in the NEAC Quarterfinal round game at Gallaudet University on Tuesday night. She recorded a team-high seven double-doubles.
Herman and the Nittany Lions finished the 2017-18 season 10-12 overall and 7-5 in the NEAC South, which placed them third in the standings. The team made its first appearance in the NEAC Postseason since the 2010-11 season.
