Berks Benefitting THON, a Penn State Berks student organization, will host a benefit dinner and a night of fun — all for a good cause. The fifth annual "Inspire the Night" benefit dinner will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 14, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Reading.

When Genesis Muñoz Arias was a student at Reading High School, she was introduced to Penn State Berks through the Upward Bound program, which provides support to participants in preparation for college. Now that she is graduating from Penn State Berks, she is putting her degree to work to help Reading residents. 

As part of the "Global Oscars Comes to Berks," Penn State Berks will present the film "Quo Vadis, Aida?" at 6:15 p.m. on Nov. 16, in room 5 Luerssen Building. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Penn State Berks police officers will offer free child safety seat inspections to the local community from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Implement Building by the Peiffer House (corner of Broadcasting and Tulpehocken Roads) at Penn State Berks.

In an effort to alleviate the isolation and loneliness that many seniors experienced during the coronavirus pandemic, the Penn State Berks community came together for a new initiative – Operation Smilegram.

Penn State Berks officially welcomed its fifth leader on Jan. 4, 2021, when George Grant Jr. assumed the position of chancellor.

Two years after the Berks LaunchBox opened its doors within the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts in downtown Reading in January 2019, it is clear that entrepreneurship and innovation have sparked positivity and harnessed energy within the Greater Reading community.

Penn State Berks students will prepare and serve dinner at Opportunity House, the Reading emergency shelter, on the evening of Friday, Feb. 14.

Berks criminal justice students and youth from the RIZE program recently met at the GoggleWorks Center in Reading. The purpose of the meeting was to have an open discussion -- through artistic media -- about social justice issues in the city of Reading.

Penn State Berks students visited the Police Athletic League Walnut Street location in Reading to serve Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, Nov. 21. Students arrived at 4 p.m. and began by doing crafts with the Olivet Boys and Girls Club youth prior to serving Thanksgiving dinner.
