Berks students get the Beatles into their lives in NYC

Some 20 students enrolled in the Penn State Berks Beatles honors course turned into day trippers on Sunday, April 8, traveling to New York City for a walking tour of Fab Four historic points "here, there and everywhere"; a presentation by one of the world’s leading Beatles experts and enthusiasts; and a visit to the New York Public Library’s current 1960s U.S. history and culture exhibit.

Berks Sustainability Team expands composting efforts

While recycling has had a significant and positive effect on the environment, opportunities exist to do more. A good example is composting, which could recycle organics — food scraps, grass clippings, leaves, etc. — that make up more than half of our waste stream.

Penn State Berks holds fable workshop for Glenside Elementary students

Fifty-five third graders from Glenside Elementary School in Reading will visit Penn State Berks on Feb. 27 for a fable workshop beginning at 9:45 a.m. in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room. The workshop is a joint initiative of the college’s elementary and early childhood education and theatre degree programs, and coordinated by David Bender, associate professor of educational psychology.
