Students honor Vietnam veterans

Penn State Berks students enrolled in the American Studies course “The Vietnam War in History and in Memory” had a unique assignment: to interview local veterans and compile their memories into a book, "The Vietnam War through the Eyes of Berks County Veterans."

Penn State Berks students put awareness at forefront

For the past five years, students in the BI SC 003 Environmental Science course at Penn State Berks have worked collaboratively in teams to complete an Environmental Awareness and Community Action Project (EACAP). Led by Mahsa Kazempour, associate professor of science education, students research an environmental issue of their choice and work with a community organization to support actions focused on addressing environmental issues locally.

MBA Information Session slated for April 28

Penn State Berks will hold an information session for the master of business administration program from 6 to 7 p.m. April 28 in Room 157 of the Franco Building on campus. Penn State Great Valley offers its MBA course at Penn State Berks.

Kinesiology degree helps former Navy corpsmen

Tyler Proper has always had an interest in the medical field. After graduating from high school in 2006, he enrolled in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman, acting as a first responder on the battlefield to Marine Corps infantry. When his military career came to an end, he knew he wanted to continue his studies in the medical field. He will graduate with a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology on Saturday, May 9. On May 18, he will begin the Penn State College of Medicine Physician Assistant Program at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
