Penn State Berks celebrates Veterans Day

The Student Veterans of America-Penn State Berks Chapter will sponsor a Veterans Day program on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at 1 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room of the Perkins Student Center, Penn State Berks. This event is free and open to the public but attendees must register by Friday, November 6, 2015 to JJW26@psu.edu.

Berks women's soccer closes out regular season with shutout

COBLESKILL, N.Y. - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team closed out the regular season with a 12-0 victory on the road over SUNY Cobleskill in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon. The Nittany Lions finish the regular season with an overall record of 14-2-2 and are 12-0 in conference competition. Berks won its fourth straight NEAC Regular-Season Championship and will host the postseason tournament November 7-8, 2015.

Penn State Berks receives “Military Friendly”

Penn State Berks was recently designated as “military friendly” due to its commitment to serving veterans. The campus received the designation of 2016 Military Friendly School from Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs magazine.

College to host Berks County Interscholastic Mathematics Competition

Penn State Berks will host the 2015 Berks County Interscholastic Mathematics Championship Competition on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, from 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center. This year, 57 high school students from 19 Berks County school districts are participating in the competition. In the event of inclement weather, the competition will take place on Thursday, November 5.

College holds Thanksgiving Dinner for international students

The Penn State Berks Multicultural Office will hold a Thanksgiving Dinner to introduce international students to this traditional holiday on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. This event is open to Penn State Berks students, faculty, and staff, and attendees must have a ticket for the event. Those interested in attending can sign up in the Multicultural Office, room 13 of the Perkins Student Center.

The Niche 2016 Best Colleges Ranking is a comprehensive assessment of more than 1,100 U.S. colleges based on millions of statistics and student reviews. Its 2016 ranking places Penn State Berks in 22nd place among all colleges and universities in Pennsylvania.

Calpulli Mexican Dance brings traditional dance to Berk

Calpulli Mexican Dance Company will bring the rich dance traditions of Mexico to Penn State Berks at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 18 in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public. Calpulli’s performance at Penn State Berks will feature visually stunning costumes and choreography.

Alcohol Awareness Week events to educate students

In recognition of National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week, Oct. 19-24, 2015, Penn State Berks is holding various Alcohol Awareness events. On Thursday, October 22, 2015, from 11:00 a.m.-3 p.m., various activities that simulate driving under the influence of alcohol will be held in the Perkins Plaza. Events will include use of "drunk goggles" and other activities. This program is sponsored by Penn State Berks Police in conjunction with AAA Reading-Berks County.
