As part of the college’s 60th anniversary, Berks held a gala celebration on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Reading. The event raised over $60,000 to establish the Penn State Berks 60th Anniversary Scholarship.
For the last four decades, Harold “Hal” Kremser has played the organ during Berks commencement ceremonies. He recently announced that his performance at the fall commencement on December 14th will be his last.

Ryan Morris, a first-generation college student who was a race car driver before attending Penn State Berks, has won a Schwarzman Scholarship, which will enable him to pursue a master’s degree in global affairs from the Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University in Beijing.
Berks Benefitting THON, will host a delicious meal and a night of fun — all for a good cause. The second annual "Inspire the Night" benefit dinner will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, at the DoubleTree in Reading.
Berks will have two student marshals for the fall 2018 commencement, Sara A. Stoyer from Orwigsburg and Steven Mack Jr. from Denver, Pennsylvania. Each has earned an overall 4.0 GPA and will graduate with summa cum laude honors.
The Freyberger Gallery at Penn State Berks will host an exhibition of more than 25 paintings by Penn State alumnus Steve Scheuring from Jan. 17 to Feb. 21, 2019. An opening reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday Jan. 17, with a snow date of 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday Jan. 24.
Penn State Berks students will serve lunch to the clients of Opportunity House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, as part of the campus' commitment to community service.
A new class of 158 Penn State Berks students will receive their baccalaureate and associate degrees at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, in the Beaver Community Center, when Berks hosts its fall 2018 commencement ceremony.
