Penn State Berks holds Latino Forum for high school students and community

As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, Penn State Berks will hold its 11th annual Latino Forum from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, in the college’s Perkins Student Center Auditorium. This special event is free and open to students from all Berks County high schools, as well as members of the local Hispanic and Latino community.

Engineering Ahead aims to bridge gap for incoming students

Penn State Berks is helping a future generation of engineering students succeed through the college’s Engineering Ahead Program, which is now in its eighth year. The goal of the four-week summer “bridge” program, which ran from June 25 to July 21, is to increase retention rates among a diverse group of engineering students by enhancing academic preparedness and developing a support network.

Penn State Berks summer sessions begin May 15

Penn State Berks is offering 70 great ways for students to spend their summer. The first six-week summer session will begin on May 15 and continue through June 23, with final exams on June 26; and the second six-week session runs from June 28 to Aug. 9, with finals on Aug. 11.

Penn State Berks Senior Spotlight: Edith Konneh

Edith Konneh has had a successful four years at Penn State Berks, both academically and socially. Perhaps her most significant accomplishment was inspiring her fellow students through her poetry which explores issues of mental health, self-love, and healing. The Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, native will graduate with a bachelor's degree in elementary and early childhood education during Penn State Berks commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 6.
