This fall, Penn State Berks welcomed 110 international students to the campus community. Of that number, 40 are new students. To help these students succeed, the college has implemented a variety of programs and events.
For Shivansh Bhatt, attending Penn State Berks was not part of the plan. An international student born in India and raised in Dubai, Bhatt had originally applied to University Park to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.

When Tesfay Rezene was just 14 years old, he lived with his family in a small village in the African nation of Eritrea. When government authorities announced that they would be removing children from school, Rezene fled the country and never returned.
