Penn State Berks celebrates Sustainability Month

The Penn State Berks Sustainability Team, led by Mahsa Kazempour, associate professor of science education, is hosting a variety of activities and events in April for the college’s second annual Sustainability Month celebration.

Freyberger Gallery to hold Gaige Memorial Juried Exhibition

The Freyberger Gallery will host a special juried exhibition to honor the late CEO Emeritus Frederick H. Gaige. This exhibit includes the work of more than 40 artists from Berks County and surrounding regions, selected by art instructors Janice Trusky, Penn State Berks, and Bob Stickloon, Penn State Schuylkill. The exhibit runs from March 22 to April 20, with an opening reception at 6 p.m. on March 22. This event is free and open to the public.

Theatre Department presents “Greater Tuna”

The Penn State Berks Theatre Department will present "Greater Tuna" by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears and Ed Howard at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, through Saturday, Feb. 25, in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. Admission is free, but space is limited and donations to the Theatre Department will be accepted.

Screening of 'Finding Jenn’s Voice' on Feb. 23

Penn State Berks Police Service will sponsor a screening of "Finding Jenn's Voice," followed by a discussion with the filmmaker, Tracy Schott, at 7 p.m. on Feb. 23 in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room. The screening is part of the University’s “Stand for State” program.

Berks airs 'Remixing Colorblind'

As part of the campus' Black History Month events, Penn State Berks will air the documentary "Remixing Colorblind," followed by a question-and-answer session with the producer and director, Sheena C. Howard, at 7 p.m. on Feb. 8 in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public.

An evening with 'Jungle' Jack Hanna slated for Feb. 1

Recognized as America’s favorite zookeeper, “Jungle” Jack Hanna will discuss the importance of conservation and protection of wildlife worldwide in his lecture at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium.

Celebration of Mozart performance to be held Jan 18

To celebrate the month of Mozart’s birth, a chamber ensemble from the Reading Symphony Orchestra will perform some of the composer’s best-loved works at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 18 in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium at Penn State Berks. The event is free and open to the public.
