In honor of National Foreign Language Week, Tully’s Dining Center at Penn State Berks will feature cuisine from different geographic areas from March 13-17. The program is open to Penn State Berks students, faculty, and staff and the local community. Meals are available for purchase a la carte at Tully’s, located in the Perkins Student Center.
Each spring, Penn State Startup Week powered by PNC brings together the best and brightest Penn State student and alumni entrepreneurs and innovators for a weeklong celebration of what happens when Penn State’s inspired doers put their ideas into action.
Budding entrepreneurs are invited to apply to the Penn State Berks Customer Discovery Lab, a four-week series of workshops organized by the college’s Flemming Creativity, Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (CEED) Center. This opportunity is open to Penn State students, recent alumni, faculty, staff, and community members interested in exploring the commercial viability of their idea or innovation.
The challenges of the coronavirus pandemic led two Penn State professors — one at Penn State Berks and the other at Penn State College of Medicine — to collaborate on ideas for how health care facilities could be redesigned to provide optimal, resilient care during pandemics and other situations with mass casualties.
Penn State Berks has named more than 730 students to the fall 2022 dean’s list. To earn a dean’s list designation, students must end the semester with a 3.5 grade point average or higher.
Penn State Berks students proved yet again that dedication reaps rewards. Berks Benefitting THON student organization raised $36,287.98 and earned the seventh spot among Penn State Commonwealth Campuses. The results were announced at the end of the 46-hour dance marathon to benefit Four Diamonds on Sunday, Feb. 19.
Penn State Berks will host its first Queen Gala, an event in honor of and celebration of International Women of Color Day and Women’s History Month, on Wednesday, March 1, at 6 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room.
A presentation on bias and fairness issues in AI will be delivered by Tommaso Giovannelli, a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Lehigh University, on Feb. 20.
Jeff Gernsheimer will share the incredible story of his mother’s journey from Germany to England and then to the U.S. to escape the Holocaust, on Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room, Penn State Berks.
