Samantha Hagenbush, a Penn State Berks sophomore, wants teens to know that “It’s ok not to be ok.” As an ambassador for Robbie’s Hope, a nonprofit organization that aims to broaden and deepen awareness of teen anxiety, depression and suicide, she helps to spread the word about mental health resources.

COVID-19 vaccine requirement expands to two more campuses, Penn State Extension

After a careful review of President Joe Biden’s executive order mandating vaccines for federal contractors and guidance issued by the federal Safer Federal Workforce Task Force, Penn State has determined that the COVID-19 vaccine mandate already in place at seven campuses must be extended to two additional campuses — Berks and Schuylkill. The vaccine mandate also applies to all Penn State Extension employees across the commonwealth.

University Police to participate in National Drug Take Back Day on Oct. 23

Penn State police officers at Penn State Altoona and Penn State Fayette are hosting National Drug Take-Back Day events on Oct. 23, which aim to provide a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. Secure prescription collection bins also are available year-round at Penn State Berks, Penn State Harrisburg and University Park.

Penn State Berks police officers will offer free child safety seat inspections to the local community from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Implement Building by the Peiffer House (corner of Broadcasting and Tulpehocken Roads) at Penn State Berks.
