In recognition of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Penn State Berks will hold a Cybersecurity Discovery Day for Reading School District middle school students enrolled in the Penn State Educational Partnership Program.
Approximately 125 first-graders from the 10th and Green Elementary School in the Reading School District will visit Penn State Berks for the third annual Math and Science Day on Oct. 15. The program is hosted and coordinated by the college’s elementary and early childhood education degree program.
Penn State Berks is partnering with Lauer´s Park Elementary School for two programs: Bilingual students will visit Lauer’s Park to present a reading of "Huevos Verdes con Jamon" (Green Eggs and Ham) at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, along with other activities.
3D printing, or additive manufacturing, as it’s more formally known, has enabled innovations in manufacturing and production. However, it’s also contributing to the 8.3 billion metric tons of plastic waste that's been generated since 1950. Penn State startup Trimatis LLC believes it can help combat this problem by converting plastic waste into 3D printing filament.
As part of the college’s commitment to community engagement, Penn State Berks students will volunteer in the community with a variety of nonprofit organizations during the academic year.
Penn State Berks has announced that its initiative formerly known as the Center for Service Learning and Community-based Research is going through some changes this fall.
Thirty-two students, 10 faculty and staff members, and 25 community volunteers joined forces as part of the Penn State Berks Day of Service on Sunday, Aug. 26.
This fall, Penn State Berks welcomed 104 international students to the campus community. Of that number, 40 are new students. To help these students succeed, the college has implemented a variety of programs and events.
