At Penn State Berks, we’re all about community and that starts with where you live, eat, and sleep. On-campus housing serves 800+ students in two great living options: The Village and The Woods. Both offer fully furnished suites that include amenities such as refrigerator/freezers, microwaves, wireless internet, computer ports, and much more. And both are just a short walk from Tully’s cafeteria, classrooms, the Thun Library, athletic fields, the gym, and other campus facilities. Parking is conveniently located near the residence areas.

The Village

The Village offers the traditional college experience and all the fun and memories that come with it. Comprised of six separate buildings (listed below) in a quaint “village” style layout, each hall houses eight fully-furnished suites. Each suite consists of four double rooms sharing two semi-private bathrooms, with a separate shower and toilet stall, two sinks, and storage space, between eight suitemates.

Each hall offers 24-hour card swipe access building security, vending machines, a central lounge area, a study lounge, and a modern fire safety system.

The Woods Houses

The Woods provides a more private style of living without sacrificing the college roommate experience. Made up of seven interconnected buildings, the Woods offers four-person suites including either single- or double-occupancy rooms, giving you the opportunity to have your own room or to share a room with one other person. Each suite has a semiprivate bathroom, with separate shower and toilet stalls, two sinks, and storage space, shared by suitemates.

The Woods also includes one central lounge in Ivy Hall with a fireplace and an outside patio, several study lounges, 24-hour card swipe access building security, vending machines, and a modern fire safety system.

Residence Life has a central office located within The Woods in Ivy Hall.

Security

All the residence halls have electronic 24-hour card swipe access, ensuring that only residents can gain access to the buildings; this system is in place 24-hours a day. We also have closed-circuit tv cameras that monitor the entrances and exits of all the buildings, and around-the-clock police officers who help keep you safe.

Campus Dining

The food at Penn State Berks has it covered from every angle. Need a quick bite or a cup of coffee? Check out the Cyber Café, conveniently located in the atrium of the Gaige Technology and Business Innovation Building.
