The 13th annual Penn State Berks Losoncy Lecture in Physics and Astronomy will be presented by Leah G. Dodson, assistant professor of chemistry and biochemistry at the University of Maryland. Dodson will present “The Quantum Identity Crisis of Molecular Hydrogen: Why the Simplest Molecule Isn’t So Simple” on Wednesday, March 25. A reception will begin at 4 p.m. in the college’s Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room and the lecture begins at 4:45 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public.

Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania (GSEP) recently announced that Penn State Berks Chancellor and Dean Radha Pyati will receive its Take the Lead Berks Award during an award ceremony on April 14 at Redner’s Event Center in Reading. The award honors leaders in both their professional industries and communities, who serve as positive role models for Girl Scouts in Berks County through their careers and dedication to local causes they support.

Filmmaker Pearl Gluck, 2025-26 Penn State Laureate and associate professor in the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications, will speak at Penn State Berks on Monday, Feb. 23, in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room. Gluck’s presentation, free and open to the public, is part of an effort to inspire regional storytelling, foster connections across campuses and local communities and create pathways for artistic engagement.
The American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) has recently announced that Sadan Kulturel-Konak, professor of management information systems at Penn State Berks, has been elected chair of Zone I, which represents the Northeast region, and a member of the ASEE board of directors following a nationwide vote in the 2025 ASEE election. She will begin her three-year term at the end of June.
In 2025, 93 students successfully completed a variety of noncredit professional and workforce development certificate programs at Penn State Berks. Noncredit programs are designed to provide practical, industry-relevant training that supports career growth, upskilling and lifelong learning.
As the 2025-26 Penn State Laureate, filmmaker and associate professor Pearl Gluck is traveling across the commonwealth to share her films and examine how storytelling lives within communities — not only in places, but through the people who care for them: archivists, artists, educators, librarians, museum guides and local historians who serve as keepers of cultural memory.
Penn State Berks will hold a Lunar New Year celebration with a live performance by the Chinese Cultural Art Institute from 1 to 4 p.m., with the performance beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, in the Perkins Student Center. The event will also include activities like face painting, story telling, arts and crafts, and light refreshments. This free event is open to the public and attendees are asked to reserve their seat advance.
Penn State Berks is celebrating its history while preparing students for the future through National Engineers Week events and activities, to be held Feb. 23 to 27. The college’s roots in engineering date back to 1927, and the University has offered engineering degrees for more than 125 years. Events demonstrations, hands-on activities, panels with alumni and industry leaders, visits for high school learners, and so much more.
