Penn State New Kensington Chancellor Kevin Snider presents the vision for Corner CON 2018. The event aimed to create and build awareness of innovation and entrepreneurship (I&E), engage participants through collaborative ideation and begin to articulate action steps the campus will take to integrate I&E on and off campus so that students are prepared with skills necessary for the jobs and opportunities of the future. Corner CON was held at The Corner, the campus' entrepreneurial center.

Shaka Senghor

Convicted murderer, author, and lecturer to speak at Penn State Berks

In 1991, Shaka Senghor was sent to prison for second-degree murder. Today, he lectures at universities, is a leading voice on criminal justice reform, and an inspiration to thousands. He will give two presentations at Penn State Berks on Wednesday, March 14: the first at 12:15 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room and the second at 7 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. Both lectures are free and open to the public.

Penn State Berks to host Cuts for Kids to benefit THON

Penn State Berks Benefiting THON, a student organization that helps to raise funds for the fight against pediatric cancer, is hosting its annual Cuts for Kids event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 7 in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room.
Nittany Watson Challenge

Nittany AI Challenge offers $100,000 in funding

Penn State students, faculty and staff are invited to compete for $100,000 in funding during the Nittany AI Challenge. The challenge, sponsored by the Penn State EdTech Network, will give participating teams the opportunity to explore artificial intelligence in higher education to improve the student experience at Penn State, solve real-world problems at the University, and generate startup ideas. The deadline for idea submissions is Jan. 29.

Berks Benefiting THON to host third annual 'Polar Plunge'

Penn State Berks Benefiting THON, a student organization, is inviting the community to take the “Polar Plunge” to raise funds for THON, the world's largest student-run philanthropy dedicated to supporting children with pediatric cancer and their families, at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 28, at the beach at Blue Marsh Lake. Attendees may register in advance before Jan. 14 for $20, or after Jan. 14 for $25. Those who register before Jan. 14 will receive a t-shirt.
