Penn State Berks will host two events that showcase the artistic talents of its student body: a Student Art Exhibit and the Spring Festival of New Plays. Both events will be held on Thursday, April 27. The Student Art Exhibit runs from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Freyberger Gallery and the Spring Festival of New Plays begins at 7 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. Both events are free and open to the public.
The Freyberger Gallery will host a special juried exhibition to honor the late CEO Emeritus Frederick H. Gaige. This exhibit includes the work of more than 40 artists from Berks County and surrounding regions, selected by art instructors Janice Trusky, Penn State Berks, and Bob Stickloon, Penn State Schuylkill. The exhibit runs from March 22 to April 20, with an opening reception at 6 p.m. on March 22. This event is free and open to the public.
Professor Rebecca Strzelek, Penn State's Laureate for 2016-2017 academic year, will give a presentation on the art of jewelry-making using cutting-edge computer technology at 12:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, in the Gaige Technology and Business Innovation Building, room 121, Penn State Berks. This event is free and open to the public.
