Students travel to Philadelphia to study history and hauntings

Fifteen Penn State Berks students enrolled in the college's Applied Psychology, Communication Arts and Sciences, and Global Studies courses got a lesson in fear when they traveled with Dr. Eric Lindsey, Professor of Psychology, and Dr. Cheryl L. Nicholas, Associate Professor of Communication Arts and Sciences, to Philadelphia on October 24, 2014, to participate in the "Grim Philly Twilight Tour," a walking tour of the city.

Communication Day Symposium discusses career pathways on Nov. 11

The Penn State Berks Communication Arts & Sciences (CAS) program will host Communication Day, featuring a symposium titled "What's Your Pathway?" on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, from 3-4:30 p.m. in the Freyberger Gallery, located in the Perkins Center. This event is free and open to the campus community.

Berks Degree Fair promotes academic programs

Penn State Berks will hold a Degree Fair for currently enrolled students on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014, from 1-2:30 p.m. in Tully's. Students attending the fair will receive a coupon for a free lunch on the day they attend and they will be able to enter their names in a drawing for a grand prize.

Global Studies students complete internship in India

Two Penn State Berks Global Studies majors had the experience of a lifetime when they completed an internship at Social Change and Development (SCAD), a nonprofit non-governmental organization dedicated to empowering the marginalized communities in Tamil Nadu, India during the spring semester of 2014.

Student veterans and dependents information session slated for Nov. 12

The Penn State Berks Veterans Advisory Council, in collaboration with the Penn State Berks Admissions Office, is hosting an information session for student veterans and their dependents to learn more about the benefits of the GI College Bill ® and Penn State Berks on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room. This event is free and open to current, prospective, and new active-duty, reserve, and military veteran students and their dependents.

Green routing and scheduling delivery of goods topic of EBC Speaker Series

Routing and scheduling the delivery of goods in an environmentally friendly manner is the topic of the next Engineering, Business, and Computing (EBC) Division Speaker Series Presentation on Monday, November 3, 2014, at 1 p.m. in room 244 of the Gaige Technology and Business Innovation Building. Dr. Yiyong Xiao and Dr. Abdullah Konak will present: "Minimizing C02 Emissions for the Time-Dependent, Heterogeneous Vehicle Routing and Scheduling Problem Using Dynamic Programming and Genetic Algorithms." This presentation is free and open to the public.
