The Learning Center at Penn State Berks is your go-to resource for academic support and personal growth. Whether you are just starting college or looking to strengthen your academic skills, we offer a variety of free services to help you succeed.
Located in the Student Success Center in 161 Franco Building, we provide one-on-one tutoring, peer and professional academic coaching, access to learning materials and tools, and engaging workshops and course reviews. Our friendly and experienced staff are here to support you with challenging subjects and help you develop effective skills and strategies. Learning Center Hours
Open for Peer Tutoring by Appointment
- Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Open for General Use (studying, computers, homework, etc.)
- Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Math Tutoring Walk-In Hours with Dr. Ryan Hassler, Faculty Math Tutor (Statistics and Math through 141)
- Mondays, Noon to 2:00 p.m.
- Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
Learning Center Goals
The goals of the Learning Center focus on enhancing academic success and supporting students throughout their educational journey.
- Provide tutoring, coaching, and resources that support student learning, strengthen subject understanding, and build the academic skills needed for success in college and beyond.
- Offer one-on-one help tailored to each student’s learning style and goals, including study tips, time management, and test-taking strategies.
- Encourage a positive attitude toward learning and help students develop skills they will use beyond college.
- Support students in becoming independent, confident learners who take charge of their education.
- Work closely with instructors to reinforce classroom learning and improve student success.
- Ensure every student has equal access to support, no matter their background or ability.
