These policies help promote fairness and efficiency for all students to access our services.
Here is a quick overview.
- Accessing the Learning Center: Learning Center services are available to current Penn State Berks students. Sessions are in-person in the Learning Center found in 161 Franco Building.
- Appointments: Students can schedule one 30-minute session per subject per day. You can book more than one session a day if each is for a different subject.
- Arrival Time: Students have a 10-minute grace period for appointments. After 10 minutes, the appointment is considered a no-show.
- No-Show Policy: If you miss three appointments without canceling, your account will be deactivated, and you will be unable to make future appointments.
- Canceling Appointments: Cancel early if you cannot make it. To do so, log in to the Learning Center website, select your appointment, and click “cancel appointment.”
- No Available Appointments: If there is no available time, add your name to the waitlist by clicking the clock icon next to the day you want, and you will be notified if a spot opens.
- Be Prepared: Bring your materials, questions, and be ready to participate. Make sure you have attended class and completed the related work.
- Respectful Behavior: Disruptive actions (like loud noise, damaging property, or bothering others) are not allowed and may lead to losing Learning Center access or further action.
- Exam Help: Tutors cannot help with online or take-home exams or quizzes.
- Test Day Tutoring: Avoid last-minute sessions before a test. Tutoring works best when used regularly.
- What Tutors Do: Tutors help you understand the material but will not do your assignments or give you answers.
