Penn State Berks announced it has surpassed its $11 million goal established for the University's historic fundraising effort, For the Future: The Campaign for Penn State Students. The new standard for private support at Penn State Berks—nearly $12.3 million—is part of the University's record $2.18 billion campaign total.
Register for the July 16 Information Session
The Office of Continuing Education will hold an adult learner information session on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, beginning at 6 p.m.. This comprehensive information session will provide adults with information on credit, noncredit, and certificate programs at Penn State Berks. In addition, representatives will be available to answer questions on admissions, academic advising, financial aid, and registration.
Penn State Berks will hold an information session for the MBA program on Thursday, July 24, 2014, at 6 p.m. in room 151 of the Franco Building.
Penn State Berks has received requests from professionals in the Greater Reading area for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. In response to this demand, Penn State Great Valley is collaborating with Penn State Berks and is offering its MBA program at Penn State Berks.
Penn State Berks student Andrew Harakel, a senior Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology major, received funding for the proposal he submitted to the Penn State Sustainability Institute Reinvention Fund Project titled "Operation Dyson." Working with adviser Mark Dawson, Assistant Director of Business Services at Penn State Berks, Harakel's proposal was to install six hand dryers in the Gaige Technology and Business Innovation Building and two hand dryers in the Thun Library. The hand dryers will be installed this summer.
High school students who will be seniors this fall and their families are encouraged to attend the Penn State Berks Spend a Summer Morning program, on Saturday, July 26, 2014, beginning at 9 a.m. Information will be provided to students who are considering admission for the fall of 2015. Topics such as admissions, financial aid, academics, student activities, and athletics will be discussed.
Penn State Berks will begin offering the B.S. in Accounting degree in the fall semester of 2015. This degree program is offered in response to industry and economic demand in Berks County for graduates with accounting degrees.
Penn State Berks will begin offering the B.S. in Hospitality Management degree in the fall semester of 2015. The hospitality industry is a major economic driver in the Berks County area, and this degree program is offered in response to demand for graduates with degrees in the hospitality industry. Penn State Berks is the only campus outside University Park to offer this degree program.
A trail run in Birdsboro, Pennsylvania, has been renamed in memory of a Penn State alumnus, and money from the race will support the College of Communications.
The Berks County Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association has rescheduled its 27th Annual Golf Outing and Dinner for Monday, June 23, 2014, at Golden Oaks Golf Club. The outing was originally scheduled for Friday, May 16, but was postponed due to rain. The golf tournament is a scramble format with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. and the registration fee is $105 per person.
